Founded in 2017, Kayt Band revives rarely — if ever — performed works of Armenian traditional music, crafted for a primarily folk-instrument lineup.
Drawing on songs and tunes preserved in oral tradition and documented by Armenian collectors since the 19th century, the ensemble has brought first concert performances of numerous pieces, reintroducing them into today's musical life and artists' repertoires.
To date, Kayt Band has released two albums and four music videos, making this rediscovered repertoire accessible to listeners worldwide.
